Top Ten Tuesday: One-Sitting Reads

written by Leslie March 21, 2017

After all the excitement here yesterday, I feel like a real live gif! So no downloaded ones today 🙂

You’ll just have to settle for a few exclamation points to tell you how pumped I am for another edition of Top Ten Tuesday!!! This is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is one-sitting reads or quick reads. I don’t seem to have much time anymore for long periods of reading, so unless it’s a picture book–and even that is debatable lol–I haven’t done much one-sitting reading lately. But here are a few I have read in one sitting once upon a time…

Top Seven One-Sitting Reads

7. Nancy Drew

When I was younger, I used to count down until summer vacation because it meant I could read what I wanted instead of what I had to read at school. I know I read several Nancy Drew books in one day.

6. The Georgia Nicolson series

Okay, so I can’t actually verify this, but I’m sure I read one of these in one sitting. I used to buy them the day they were released, so if I couldn’t wait to buy it, I’m sure I couldn’t wait to read it.

5. Catching Fire

I read this entire book on a trip to Hawaii. Five hours of straight reading.

4. Perfect Chemistry

This was a “just one more chapter” book.

3. Go Ask Alice

I’ll never forget reading this book in one sitting because it was a gray, rainy day and after I finished, I felt gray and like I needed to take 500 showers. Ick.

2. When It Happens

This book introduced me to Susane Colasanti. I read it on a trip from Indy to LA. I had the flu the night before my flight and the night I returned. Magically, I was flu-free during the flight. This book helped me pass the time on the flight and during the layover.

1. The Day the Crayons Quit

This is my only recent one-sitting read. Such a cute book. But there were a lot of words for a picture book. I mean, I barely made it through in one sitting. 🙂

What are some good one-sitting reads? Do you have time to do this? 🙂 xoxo
