Top Ten Tuesday: A Fairytale List of Retellings

written by Leslie June 6, 2017

Happy Tuesday! And welcome to another week of TOP TEN TUESDAY, courtesy of The Broke and the Bookish. Go here for more info and to join in on the fun. This week’s topic is 10 Books From X Genre That I’ve Recently Added To My TBR List. Since I’ve recently completed my first fairytale retelling (Alice: The Wanderland Chronicles by J.M. Sullivan– check it out! It’s good!) and enjoyed it, I decided to try some more. I’m usually a stricly YA Contemp only reader. But I’m ready to branch out!

Top Ten Fairy Tale Retellings on my TBR List

10. A Long Long Sleep

This Sleeping Beauty retelling came recommended. Great characters, I was told.

9. Briar Rose

I love Holocaust stories. (It feels wrong to be enthusiastic about that lol). I have to admit, I’m more excited about this Sleeping Beauty retelling.

8. A Curse Dark as Gold

I love Rumpelstiltskin. Love!

7. The Wrath and the Dawn

Seems intriguing and I like The Arabian Nights.

6. Crimson Bound

Red Riding Hood! Yes, please!

5. Ella Enchanted

Yes, I know. I should have read this a long time ago. Stop judging. 🙂

4. Dorothy Must Die

The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies from growing up.

3. Emerge

The Little Mermaid!!!

2. Wendy Darling

I think a Peter Pan retelling would be fun.

1. Espressologist

I know…this isn’t a fairy tale. But I love a good classics retelling, especially my favorite Jane Austen book- Emma.

Still waiting for my Princess and the Pea retelling! Which retellings have you read that I should add to my list?

xo, Leslie
