It’s Friday and that means it’s time to celebrate the upcoming weekend with a treat. And there’s nothing better than a cupcake. Today I want to highlight my favorite cupcake store. Cupcakery? Heaven? 🙂 It’s a place called…
SusieCakes is THE BEST. I have tasted many cupcakes (even Sprinkles, which I’ve heard so many people rave about), and SusieCakes BY FAR is the best I’ve ever had. Let’s start with the cake itself. It is so dense and hearty. None of that air-filled cake that reminds you of a grocery store special. And hidden inside this cake is a little nugget of frosting! That makes it so easy to keep the frosting always combined with the cake (a very important factor when eating cupcakes). And then there’s the frosting. It’s light yet thick and full of sugary goodness.
Flavors? I’m not sure I can name a favorite, but I love the lemon and vanilla cupcakes. And they have seasonal flavors as well. The peanut butter and jelly is a dream. At first I thought it was odd, and maybe it wouldn’t taste good. Oh no. Let me tell you, it’s like eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich AND having your dessert at the same time.
SusieCakes has other treats, too. Since I’m a cupcake fanatic, I have not actually tried anything else there. But I hear the 7-layer bar is ridiculously good as is the flourless peanut butter cookie.
