9. Brooke (So Much Closer, Susane Colasanti)
Boy transfers to a different city, and you move to be closer to him. You show up at his new school. In a new town! I understand having a crush, Brooke, but that just seems creepy.
8. Ethan Frome (Ethan Frome, Edith Wharton)
Can someone please explain to me how I’m supposed to have empathy for the sad plights of the characters in the classics when they make such obviously poor decisions? Ethan, you are pathetic and we cannot be friends.
