Tonight I stared at a line-up of hair products and instruments resting on my bathroom counter. I’d left them out after getting ready to go out this evening. And the sight of that line-up revealed so much to me…about my hair and my laziness about my hair and the anger I have toward my hair for ruining my life. (Which, given my laziness, is probably unwarranted.) That line-up was a snapshot that has remained burned in my brain. That one picture unlocked so many thoughts and allowed me to see more clearly a million other pictures.
There is so much in a picture: the objects or people, their placement, the before and after of it, the messages sent. It’s powerful. One picture can tell an entire story. So I’m going to tell a story with a picture each day here for 365 days. It won’t be a thousand words. It’ll be 41 words. But it will be a story.
I hope you visit and enjoy. See you tomorrow.
