She saw the past year reflected in a glass of water. The negative voice inside was quick to jump in first. He measured all her failures and added them to her losses. He determined decidedly that not only was the glass half empty but that it was really less than so. But in all the space above the water line, she couldn’t help but see all her friends and family dip a toe into the water. And swirling above them were the words of encouragement that had warmed her heart and the perseverance she carried in her pocket everyday. And these things mattered more, even if they were outnumbered by the rising tide.
So today she is thankful that the glass is half full. Decidedly so.
