She took a bite then her mind floated away. It went to a giant backyard, big enough to host a soccer game for her brother’s team. It went to the scraped knee she got at Maple Dale Elementary school. It went to the old-fashioned ice cream shop where she convinced her grandmother to take her every night for a month while her parents were away.
To most people, it’s just a hamburger. To her, it is an entire childhood.
