There is so much darkness in her life. She feels it caving in on her in the emptiness of those solitary hours at home. And in the memories of all that she’s lost. And in the dreams that she fears will never come true. The darkness is always there. Except when she loses herself in the walls of story. Rows upon rows of fairy tale lands and snowy mountains and regular city streets all waiting to take her away. And they do. For just a couple of hours each day, she’s able to escape the darkness and find a safe haven, a place to belong.
