I am thankful for the road that is my life. Though it is obscured sometimes, as if by a blanket of leaves, I know it is always there, waiting to take me somewhere. It is always beneath me and in front of me. And behind me, letting me know where I’ve been. And where I’ve yet to go. It’s a bright light, a forest of yellow trees in the darkness, and it’s always calling to me if I run astray.
The road has taken me to so many places and to so many people. It is both a comfort and a test. A mystery and a map.
I am so thankful for this road beneath my feet.
